Malaysia so far

So I think I have failed on keeping an update as to what I am doing in Malaysia. I completely forgot to mention that the coolest thing happened in Kuching, I got my rotten wisdom tooth removed, painlessly, for a grand total of $50. It was healed up in no time and I was then off to Kuala Lumpur for two days.

Unfortunately I had a lot of fun at night in Kuala Lumpur, including going to a mall with an amusement park in it and throwing down to some Lazer tag. I wasn’t the worst one there out of an otherwise all guys group so I count that as a win. I say unfortunate as both of my days in Kuala Lumpur I was too tired (re hungover) to go sightseeing. I was able to find some great bargains in some of KLs cheapest malls though, and eat some fantastic Indian food. All in all, I think it was a success.

Then I ran away to a tiny island and stayed on a deserted beach for two weeks. It was a definite blast even though I had to work. There were about 8 other volunteers and we got real close, as well as with some of the campers that weren’t super upset about the rugged conditions (ants everywhere, rats, rainstorms and shitty tents). It was easy to tell when someone loved the ruggedness and when someone wanted to get the fuck out of there. In the end it felt like a little family that I lived with on a deserted island and it was awesome!

Now for my next chapter, I’ve made it to an island called Penang and it is full of art! Street art everywhere, galleries, sculptures, cool kitschy stuff. Also this is definitely the street food capital of asia (definitely beats thailand… Because Indian food). And lots of art is centered around my next subject… Cats.
