Oh hello there

So, now I’m living on a tiny Malaysian island in the Gulf of Thailand, that’s only accessible by boat, has no vehicles, no roads, just a footpath that goes around the island.

I arrived by boat and the boat drove right up to the beach, hit the sand and the driver told me this was my stop. I looked out at the empty beach, no house, no building, just a volleyball net and some hammocks. Err.. ok I guess so. I put on my bag, throw my shoes onto the beach and jump out of the boat. Before I am out of the water the boat is pulling away. I walk to the edge of the beach and see there is a kitchen, a bar and a small deck area, busy with about 10 people. Welcome to Rainforest campground, my home for two weeks!

Its nice here, there is no wifi, just an ocean to play in, a beach to relax on, a kitchen to cook and eat food in, and a bar to listen to music and drink at. There’s only power from 6pm till the fuel runs out in the generator, and there is no escaping the critters that live in the Rainforest (ants, rats, mo keys). Its basic, feels totally remote, and I love it.

More to come… I have to get back.
